      <image:caption>El azafrán tiene algo especialmente evocador en el contexto español, y más aún en La Mancha, donde forma parte del paisaje, de la cocina y de la memoria cultural. Aunque probablemente no llegó a la Península exclusivamente a través del mundo árabe, sí parece claro que su expansión y arraigo en España estuvieron muy ligados al periodo andalusí. Me gusta pensar en esto también como un símbolo de algo más amplio: de cómo muchas de las cosas que hoy sentimos profundamente nuestras nacen en realidad del intercambio entre culturas. Quizá por eso el azafrán, además de bello y valioso, tiene algo de puente entre historia, tierra y conocimiento.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Lo interesante del azafrán no es solo si mejora o no determinados síntomas, sino que parece tocar varios sistemas a la vez: inflamación, neuroprotección, microbiota, barrera intestinal y señalización intestino-cerebro. Por estas razones me sigue pareciendo una intervención muy interesante mientras que la evidencia que la sostiene sigue desarrollándose. En general, los resultados sugieren que tratar el TDAH se asocia con una reducción significativa de varios riesgos importantes para la salud y la seguridad a lo largo del tiempo.
